About Us: Green Bay Pointing Dog Club was started in the 1960s by a group of people who enjoyed and shared a common interest in competing and showing their dogs. Original members were Art Femling, Bill Peterson, Father Richard Maufort, and Hank Bredel. In the 1970s, Al Francois, Bob Francois, Gary Blanchard, Richard Kummerow joined the club, along with Don Erdman, Rick Guerts, Scott Guerts, Roger Marin, Dan Hock and others. The club was established for the local amateur field trialers and it's members to promote a competitive, rewarding, yet family oriented environment. The first field trials were held at J & H Game Farm near Navarino, Wisconsin. When Wisconsin State DNR birds became available trials were moved to Pilgrim Farm property near Kewaunee, Wisconsin. In the 1980s the field trial ground was moved to Scarboro Hunting grounds, near Scarboro, Wisconsin. It was at Scarboro Hunting ground that the club began running dogs under the American Field standards. Throughout the years the club also runs several trials under various sanctioned organzations, such as National Bird Hunters Association (NBHA) to promote awareness in various trialing aspects.
